Tenor and soprano saxophonist Nick Goumas is a jazz musician who has developed his own mature, imaginative, and identifying style. Nick performs with energy, feeling and musical integrity. His Quartet is joined by three outstanding Boston area musicians who all have outstanding credentials: Steve Hunt/piano , Bruce Gertz/bass, and Peter Moutis/drums.
Drawing on the “American Song Book”, along with today’s “Jazz Standards”, The Nick Goumas Quartet’s post Bebop, contemporary straight ahead style and its display of rhythmic and harmonic sense produces some exciting jazz improvisation. Their growing audience has a mixture of musicians and jazz aficionados alike.
