Saturday, November 7th, join us for the Third Annual Concert for the Merrimack, benefitting the Merrimack River Watershed Council, featuring Jamie Dunphy and True North with special guest Drew Dunphy
The CCA is proud to partner with the musicians to present this annual concert. The Merrimack River ties the communities we serve together. All proceeds help the MRWC continue its mission: to both protect the community from the dangers of contamination in the water, and to engage and educate residents in protecting and preserving this vital natural resource.
Jamie Dunphy and True North features three veterans of the Boston music scene: Jamie Dunphy (Mill City Trio, Jamie DunphyBand), Seth Peterson (The Gone Boys, Capital 6) and Tod Salmonson (The Snap Daddies). Together, the three create what one recent concert-goer called a “magical” combination, playing with energy, passion and creativity. The trio formed in June of 2018 to play a few of Dunphy’s new songs at a benefit concert for Musicians Without Borders, and have been performing regularly since at Boston-area venues including the Burren Backroom, Lilypad Inman, Uncharted and the Once Lounge. In March of 2019 the band released their debut EP, No More Waiting, which Metronome Magazine called “nothing short of ingenious,” citing “brilliantly crafted lyrics and magnificent guitar work.” The band is currently mixing a full length album that will be released in early 2021.
Drew Dunphy is an accomplished singer/songwriter from the Boston area. Along with Jamie Dunphy and Seth Peterson, he formed the country/bluegrass group The Somervillebillies, who performed frequently in New York and Boston in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. Drew currently fronts the roots rock band Electric Standard, who released their debut album Vintage Circuitry this past March.
