Merrimack Valley Summer Film Program

Merrimack Valley Summer Film Program Flyers Site.png

This summer film program, led by two experienced filmmakers, will teach students ages 13-18 the foundations of modern filmmaking using industry-standard equipment and techniques. Students will create their own original short films, which will be presented at a public screening on the final day of each session.

The program has two sessions, with two weeks per session.

The first session will run July 7-11 and 14-18, with the second session running August 4-8 and 11-15. Classes will take place at the Chelmsford Center for the Arts and in the Chelmsford High School TV studio.

Each session will run Monday through Friday, from 9am-2pm, except for the second Monday and the final day of the session, when the schedule will be slightly altered. On the final day of the second week of each session, the program will culminate in a festival-style screening of all student films from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, with an awards ceremony after the screening. Family and friends are encouraged to attend!

Each two-week session is priced at $595 per student, with discounted group rates available as well ($1000 for two students, $1600 for three). Students are welcome to sign up for both sessions, with the knowledge that the material taught will be the the same as the previous session, but the short film they create can be entirely original.
